Thamarr Griffith is a bold and innovative leader with over 25 years of unparalleled expertise in MedTech, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and government contracting, making her the leader organizations rely on to achieve ambitious goals.
Throughout her career, Thamarr has been recognized for her ability to navigate complex global markets, lead transformational initiatives and drive sustainable growth. She has played pivotal roles at industry-defining companies such as Mako Surgical, the pioneering orthopedic robotics firm acquired by Stryker, and Lifecor, creators of the world’s first wearable defibrillator, later acquired by ZOLL Medical. These achievements highlight her expertise in scaling innovations that disrupt and redefine markets.

At Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Thamarr demonstrated a rare combination of strategic vision and hands-on execution. She launched pioneering medical devices, developed new contracting models, and successfully turned underperforming business units into growth engines that exceeded industry benchmarks. Her leadership spanned key roles at Ethicon (general and orthopedic surgery), DePuy Synthes (Velys orthopedic robotics, surgical navigation, and trauma power tools), and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, where she launched and sold pharmaceutials, biotech and biologics products in one of the world’s most competitive markets—New York City.

As global CEO of Volk Optical, a market leader in diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmology, Thamarr executed a remarkable turnaround, taking the company from flat growth to double-digit profitability. She streamlined the product portfolio, expanded global market reach, and fostered a high-performance culture centered on accountability, innovation, and speed.

Thamarr’s entrepreneurial spirit is equally impressive. As the founder of Grifco Strategy, she has guided organizations through commercialization and growth. Her firm expanded beyond healthcare to secure government contracts, including awards from the Department of Defense, and state and local entities while contracted to consult business on behalf of the SBA.
